Help and Tuition

TIS often helps our home users by compiling step by step instructions to help them with a specific task; for example:
  • Burning A backup CD
  • Creating a DVD from home videos [example]
  • Downloading and correctly printing DVD case inserts
  • Dealing with email attachments in AOL9 [example]
No task is too obscure as we are happy to research any area with which we are not familiar.

Group Training

Where several individuals have requested tuition in the same topic TIS has held small, informal training sessions at the Alford Youth Advice Centre. In these cases the costs are covered by the centre and the training is free as a community service. Some of the areas previously covered are as follows:

  • Introduction to PC's and Windows
  • Using Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • Using Microsoft Word
  • Using Microsoft Outlook
